Opus One will immerse you into a multi-sensory realm of aromas, color and texture that will delight all of your senses as we celebrate the elements of flavor with two of the most celebrated chefs in the world. This lot offers you the chance to acquire a seat at a Pre-Auction Napa Valley Gala Dinner in the open air courtyard of Opus One on Wednesday, May 31, 2017.

In keeping with the French and American heritage of Opus One, three-star Michelin Chef Yannick Alléno of Alléno Paris and Chef Justin Cogley, Grand Chef of the Relais & Chateaux Aubergine at L’Auberge in Carmel will team up to regale you with magical courses inspired by French and American tradition but with the creative and modern energy of their own styles. We will also be digging deep into the cellar with library vintages of Opus One to complete the tasting experience. You’ll travel through vintages from the 80s, 90s and 00s throughout the meal. 

Enjoy panoramic views of the Napa Valley as you savor offerings from Chefs Alléno and Cogley. Dine under the starlight surrounded by the magic of the Opus One courtyard – transformed especially for this enchanted evening - with a series of courses that will showcase the balance and creativity of each chef.

As the evening progresses, surprises await you for a truly festive and unforgettable experience. At the end of the night everyone will take home an exceptional magnum of 2010 Opus One signed by winemaker Michael Silacci so that you may remember the gala dinner years from now.

About the Chefs:

Yannick Alléno, Chef-Owner, Alléno Paris, Paris

As one of France’s most celebrated chefs, Yannick Alléno embodies a contemporary approach to French cuisine with a reflection of traditional French culinary style modernized for the 21st
century. A self-styled man of reinvention, he continues to demonstrate he is a challenger, always looking for unique creations. A perfectionist and passionate about food, Yannick Alléno presents a gastronomy which is considered a true art form. Gifted, with a strong and creative culinary identity, Yannick Alléno is now one of the greatest chefs in the world, and like Escoffier before him, one upon which gastronomic history will lean. In 2007, Alléno joined an esteemed circle of chefs by earning three Michelin stars.


Justin Cogley, Grand Chef, Aubergine at L’Auberge Carmel

With delicate interplay between creativity, tradition and respect for his ingredients, Justin Cogley’s food is deeply unique. His style is a sophisticated balance between innovation and unwavering deference for the finest ingredients he procures. His goal is to inspire guests to enjoy a broad combination of flavors and textures. Each of his flavors is unique and pure. He previously worked at Charlie Trotter’s critically acclaimed restaurant for four years, claiming the position of Chef De Cuisine for the last two. As such, he was responsible for menu creation, special events, and extensive instruction and management of the culinary staff. In 2013, Cogley was awarded the prestigious title of Grand Chef Relais and Chateaux while working at Aubergine at L’Auberge in Carmel.
