Since we have a avocado dish on the nightly tasting menu now, we have had a lot of extra avocado around. Since most of my training is done right before work. I started playing around with ingredients we had lying around, as soon as I got in for the day. This is how this avocado one came about, plus it only takes couple minutes to put together.
(1 serving) plus extra
1 Avocado peeled and pitted (I prefer the Hass variety)
½ cup almond milk
1 Tbsp honey (you can use sweetener of your course)
1 banana (if you freeze the banana makes a more slushy smoothie
a handful of spinach or other greens
a small handful of marcona almonds
a small handful of toasted sunflower seeds
Blend all in a blender and give it a try. Sometimes I will add a few ice cubes to chill it off more and thin it out. I also like to add some Almond butter after a big run or ride.
You can try your own smoothie combinations of course but this works for me – get creative!
