A simple and tasty chicken dish that we just made in my last cooking class. The spices filled the kitchen and I knew we were on to something special.

No matter how many cooking classes I do.. the conversation always comes up about what I like to make at home. Since I do spend a lot of hours here at the restaurant I usually prefer to make super simple quick meals at home. You can make this sauce ahead of time and use it for a number of different options.

I get asked a lot about vegetarian food so here is a entree that suits the colder temperatures of winter well. Of course, you can add your favorite ingredients this just happens to be some of mine.

I noticed when I was feeling hungry, this easy to put together smoothie helped me not to binge snack.

I read that chili peppers actually induce the brain to secrete endorphins, those chemicals are credited with the runner’s high. Since I love running a lot, and always in search of the that “runners high” I thought I would try this Tomato smoothie out. Heirloom tomatoes are still going strong in California and it's hot right now so it seemed like a good fit. I also took some fresh carrot juice and frozen it in ice cube trays to add some more nutrients to the smoothie.

Since we have a avocado dish on the nightly tasting menu now, we have had a lot of extra avocado around. Since most of my training is done right before work. I started playing around with ingredients we had lying around, as soon as I got in for the day. This is how this avocado one came about, plus it only takes couple minutes to put together.

Since the 4th of July is coming up, I wanted to do something simple with grilled corn. All my childhood memories from the 4th of July involved corn, but you can easily add grilled fish or meat to this and make it a very satisfying meal.

Here is a simple halibut recipe with lots of flavor. The sauce reminds me of the garlicky cilantro  smells of walking around the Thailand street food stalls. 

I know that we are lucky to live near lots of great seafood. If it is harder to come by, this recipe is also great with roasted cauliflower, salmon, or pork.

A simple one-pot wonder that is easy to put together. One-pot meals are the saving grace for busy home cooks and make the dish washer that much happier. I like to make this after I get back from a big run or training ride.

This dish is a great recovery dish after a long run. (especially on a colder morning) Something that can easily be thrown together with a little prep. Cool a batch of this rice on a parchment paper lined cooking sheet and store in a tupperware for up to five days.
